Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, on Monday joined celebrations marking Italy’s Republic Day and extended congratulations to the Italian government and people on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding friendship and strong bilateral relations between Somalia and Italy.
“This day commemorates the 1946 referendum in which the Italian people chose to establish a republic instead of a monarchy. On behalf of the Federal Government of Somalia, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people and leadership of Italy,” Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama said.
He reaffirmed Somalia’s appreciation for the historic ties between the two countries and expressed hope for continued cooperation and partnership in the years ahead.
