Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received H.E. Wang Yu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia at Villa Somalia Presidential Palace.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest and explored avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Somalia reaffirmed its adherence to the One‑China principle, recognizing the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, regarding Taiwan as an inalienable part of Chinese territory, and opposing any form of “Taiwan independence”.
The President conveyed Somalia’s sincere appreciation for China’s sustained support for the country’s state‑building efforts and expressed gratitude for Beijing’s consistent endorsement of Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity.
