Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia on Sunday unanimously approved the promotion of Mohamed Rabiic Yusuf to the rank of ambassador during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.
Mohamed Rabiic Yusuf previously served as First Counselor and Deputy Head of Somalia’s Mission to the United Nations Security Council at the UN headquarters in New York City.
The cabinet praised his diplomatic experience and contributions to representing Somalia in international affairs and multilateral diplomacy.
The appointment forms part of the Somali government’s broader efforts to strengthen diplomacy, expand international relations, and enhance Somalia’s representation within global institutions.
