Mogadishu(SONNA)-Senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia welcomed Djibouti’s newly appointed Ambassador to Somalia, Osman Dubbad, upon his arrival at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
Among the officials receiving the ambassador was Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, H.E. Abdulfatah Kasim Mohamud.
Ambassador Osman Dubbad previously served as commander of the Djiboutian contingent under the African Union peacekeeping mission’s Sector 4, now operating under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The Djiboutian forces stationed in the Hiiraan region of central Somalia were widely known by the name “Hiil-Walaal,” reflecting the close cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti in security and stabilization efforts.
Officials described the ambassador’s appointment as a step toward further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
