Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, H.E. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), received the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, Maryan Qasim, and members of the Commission at his office in Mogadishu for a preparatory meeting aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation.
Governor Muungaab congratulated the Commission’s leadership on their appointment and parliamentary approval, describing it as the result of long-standing efforts to operationalize a body of critical national importance. He reaffirmed the Banadir Regional Administration’s commitment to maintaining close and continuous collaboration with the Commission.
For her part, Chairperson Maryan Qasim expressed appreciation for the warm reception, noting that the visit marks the beginning of broader engagement with government institutions. She emphasized that the Commission prioritized Banadir Regional Administration as its first partner, given that Mogadishu serves as the Commission’s operational base.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairperson of the Commission, Mohamed Harun, Commissioners Farhan Mohamed Jimale and Ali Ilmi, Director General Mustafa Mahmoud, and the Director of the Office of the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Mohamed Abdullahi Dhaley.
