Bakool, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army, Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, visited frontline positions held by government forces in Wajid district, Bakool region.
The Commander and his delegation were received by senior army officers in Wajid, who briefed him on the security situation and recent gains in operations against Al-Shabaab militants.
The visit aimed to accelerate ongoing counter-terrorism operations and boost troop morale, with the Commander urging soldiers to intensify efforts to eliminate the militants and secure the country.
During his visit, the Army Chief also held a meeting with traditional elders in Wajid. He became the first Somali National Army commander to conduct an official inspection visit to the district.
