Mogadishu, SONNA — The Somali National Army (SNA), in coordination with Jubbaland Security Forces, is conducting a large-scale military operation across parts of the Lower and Middle Juba regions, targeting Al-Shabaab militants in key strongholds.

The ongoing operations are concentrated in areas under the districts of Jilib, Xagar, and Afmadow, including Waraha Qalley, Farshabeel, Jigees, Qawiley, and Weelmaarow, where ground forces have advanced to dismantle militant positions.

According to security officials, the offensive has been reinforced by coordinated airstrikes carried out with the support of international partners, significantly intensifying pressure on militant hideouts in the region.

The operation has resulted in a major setback for Al-Shabaab, with 27 insurgents killed, including senior members of the group.

Forces also seized a cache of weapons and military equipment, including BKM machine guns, RPG launchers, AK-47 rifles, and explosive devices intended for attacks against civilians and security personnel.

Military officials confirmed that operations are ongoing, with efforts focused on clearing remaining militant elements and consolidating security gains across the Juba regions.

The Somali National Army reaffirmed its commitment to continuing operations aimed at ensuring long-term stability, security, and the protection of civilians.
