Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of Somalia has released a list of 14 senior Al-Shabaab terrorists eliminated over the past 10 months in coordinated operations carried out with the support of international security partners.
According to the agency, the operations targeted key figures within the group, including the head of its explosives unit, Ismail Engineer. Others confirmed killed include Nunule, who was responsible for orchestrating attacks against government forces in central Somalia, Tuutax, an operative involved in explosives procurement, as well as Mohamed Sahal Abu Usama and Abdullahi Wadaad.
NISA described the operations as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s leadership structure and weaken its operational capabilities. The agency noted that the sustained campaign reflects strengthened intelligence coordination and increased pressure on the group’s command network.
Officials say such targeted actions are expected to further disrupt Al-Shabaab activities and enhance security across affected regions.
