Mogadishu(SONNA)-Members of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, along with senior government officials, have conducted a morale-boosting visit to a military training camp for the Somali National Army in the Bakool region.
The delegation, which also included military officers, was led by Abdullahi Black. During the visit, they met hundreds of young recruits currently undergoing military training as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s defence forces.
The trainees are receiving instruction in essential military skills, particularly in areas related to national defence and the protection of local communities. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to empower youth and enhance security capacity across Somalia.
Addressing the recruits, MP Black commended the government’s commitment to equipping young people in Bakool with the skills needed to defend their region and contribute to national stability. He encouraged the trainees to remain dedicated and disciplined as they prepare to serve the country.
The visiting delegation was welcomed at the camp by officers from the 9th Brigade of the 60th Division of the Somali National Army. The officials were also treated to a military parade and demonstration performed by the new recruits, showcasing the progress of their training.
