ALGIERS (SONNA) — The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Moalim Mohamud, convened a high-level diplomatic meeting on Wednesday with the Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Sifi Ghrieb. The discussions, held in Algiers, focused on fortifying the deep-rooted historical relationship between the two nations and expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation.
A primary focus of the dialogue was the enhancement of institutional collaboration within the justice and legal sectors. Both leaders explored mechanisms for the exchange of judicial expertise and the development of shared legal frameworks to improve the administration of justice. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm the commitment of both governments to a partnership grounded in fraternal relations, mutual respect, and shared strategic interests.
The Somali delegation included the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Algeria, H.E. Yusuf Ahmed Hassan. Minister Hassan Moalim Mohamud expressed the Federal Government’s profound gratitude to the leadership and people of Algeria for their exceptional hospitality. He noted that this engagement marks a decisive step in solidifying the strategic foundation of the diplomatic ties between Mogadishu and Algiers.
