Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Minister of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Ali Haji Aden, held a fruitful meeting in Geneva with the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The meeting focused on strengthening the partnership between Somalia and WHO, particularly in the areas of developing essential health services, maternal and child support, enhancing training for midwives, and Somalia’s role on the WHO Executive Board.
Additionally, the Minister and the WHO Director-General emphasized the importance of continuing close collaboration to improve Somalia’s health system, specifically addressing challenging conditions and vulnerable areas.
