The two-day conference, held on January 31 and February 1, 2026, focused on strengthening cooperation and policy coordination between federal and state levels to develop a unified national approach to addressing drought, improving access to reliable energy, and expanding water services across the country. Ministers of Energy from the Federal Member States of Galmudug, South West, Hirshabelle, Puntland (Waqooyi-Bari), and Jubbaland welcomed the strengthened collaboration with the Federal Ministry, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the energy sector and combating drought. They also emphasized the importance of equitable implementation of development projects across all regions.
