Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdulqadir Ilmi (Abdul), held a meeting with the leadership of civil society organizations.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two sides, joint engagement on national priorities, and collaboration on community-led efforts to enhance national defense and safeguard the unity of the country. Discussions also addressed cooperation in responding to the severe drought affecting many parts of Somalia.
Representatives of civil society organizations who spoke at the meeting reaffirmed their continued support for the government in defending and protecting Somalia’s unity and sovereignty, as well as advocating for and supporting efforts to assist communities affected by drought.
For his part, Director General Abdulqadir Ilmi commended the efforts of civil society organizations and praised their leading role in Somalia’s state-building process.
