Mogadishu – (SONNA) — The Somali National Army’s Danab Special Forces conducted a special operation last night in Jilib District, targeting elements of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.
The operation resulted in the elimination of 15 militants, while eight others were captured. Carried out during the night, the mission demonstrated the growing operational capability of the Somali National Army, particularly the effective use of air mobility to expand operational reach and engage the enemy at any time and in any location.
The Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Army Command commend the courage, professionalism, and high state of readiness of the Armed Forces, and once again reaffirm the Federal Government of Somalia’s firm commitment to sustaining operations against Al-Shabaab until the terrorist threat is fully eradicated and lasting peace and stability are secured for the Somali people.
