BAKU, Azerbaijan – A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia, led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, H.E. Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, has arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, for an official working visit aimed at fostering bilateral cooperation in youth empowerment and athletic development.
During the visit, Minister Mohamed held a strategic meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, H.E. Farid Gayibov. The discussions centered on strengthening and expanding the partnership between the two nations, with a specific focus on developing robust youth policies, promoting cultural exchange, and facilitating the integration of youth programs.
The two officials engaged in in-depth talks regarding technical support and capacity building. Key areas of agreement included mutual cooperation in sports training, the professional development of athletes, and the cultivation of joint projects designed to uplift the youth in both countries.
Both ministers committed to intensifying the relationship between their respective ministries. The goal is to create new opportunities for young people who are passionate about sports and to effectively address the growing needs of the youth demographic through shared expertise and resources.
This official visit establishes a strong foundation for deepening the bilateral relations between Somalia and Azerbaijan. It is anticipated that these discussions will lead to the signing of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), paving the way for tangible progress and sustainable development in the youth and sports sectors.
