Mogadishu, SONNA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, today received a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ms. Inés Fors Fernández, during an official ceremony held in Mogadishu.
Minister Abdisalam warmly welcomed Ambassador Fernández and underscored the steadily growing relations between Somalia and Cuba. He reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, noting that the strong historical ties and shared interests between the two nations continue to form a solid foundation for partnership.
The Minister emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations in areas of mutual benefit and conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Fernández as she begins her diplomatic mission in Somalia.
The presentation of credentials marks a new chapter in Somali-Cuban relations, with both countries expressing readiness to advance cooperation and broaden engagement across various sectors.
