Mogadishu, (SONNA): Somali National Army’s 43rd Division, together with the Danab Commandos, have conducted operations against Al-Shabaab militants across several areas under Jamaame district in Lower Juba, inflicting heavy losses on the group.
The joint forces carried out the operations in Muuse Xaaji, Araare, Koban, Bangeeni, Maleyleey, Baladu-Raxma, and Maam-bile — all located within the Jamaame district — where significant damage was inflicted and the militants were dislodged from the hideouts they had been using.
The ground operation was supported by airstrikes conducted by the Somali National Armed Forces, which destroyed all sites where the militants had been attempting to conceal themselves.
Army commanders confirmed that forces are still pursuing the remnants of the fleeing militants as operations continue in the wider Jamaame area.
