MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Somali Police Force Commissioner, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, chaired a high-level security meeting in Mogadishu focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation to secure the nation’s borders.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders from Somalia’s domestic security apparatus and international partners. Participants included the Director of the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA), Mr. Mustafe Dhuxulow, and the Director-General of the Finnish Immigration Service, who was on an official visit.
Also in attendance were senior officials from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Somali Police Coast Guard, and the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Mogadishu, reflecting a multi-faceted approach to the issue.
Discussions centered on unifying and integrating strategic plans for intelligence sharing, conducting joint operations, and enhancing border control mechanisms.
The primary objective of the high-level forum was to create a unified front to strengthen Somalia’s overall national security and to establish a framework for continuous, active cooperation between domestic security agencies and their international counterparts.
