MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamud Ahmed Adan (Geesood), held a high-level meeting on Wednesday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, H.E. Alper Aktas.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s offices in Mogadishu, centered on a strategic discussion to bolster the economic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
Discussions focused on several key areas of mutual interest. The two officials explored actionable strategies for strengthening bilateral trade relations, identifying and enhancing new investment opportunities, and expanding industrial cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye.
Minister Geesood highlighted the critical importance of fostering an effective and results-oriented economic partnership. He stated that such a collaboration is essential for accelerating the development of Somalia’s domestic trade and industrial sectors, which are key pillars of the national economic agenda.
The meeting concluded with a strong mutual agreement from both sides to further intensify their cooperation. Minister Geesood and Ambassador Aktas reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the working relationship and advancing the shared trade and investment goals of Somalia and Türkiye.
