MOGADISHU – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, met today with the newly elected members who will represent Somalia in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). The meeting took place following their successful election yesterday.
The Prime Minister congratulated the legislators on the immense responsibility they have undertaken on behalf of the Somali people to represent their interests in the East African Community (EAC).
Prime Minister Barre emphasized that the election of these members is a significant success for Somalia, showing the country’s growing role in regional organizations and politics within East Africa.
He encouraged the new EALA members to work diligently and proactively to defend Somalia’s interests and enhance its voice within the EAC. The Prime Minister stressed their duty to strive for stronger relations, unity, and overall development in the region.
