MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Somali Police Force has seized a container filled with illicit drugs disguised as medicine at the Port of Mogadishu.
In a press conference held at the port, Somali Police Spokesperson Abdi Fatah Adan Hassan said the operation was based on intelligence that enabled the police to intercept the illegal shipment.
The Director of the Port of Mogadishu, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), confirmed that the merchants behind the shipment have been apprehended. Both the Port Director and the Police Spokesperson issued a joint warning to individuals involved in importing expired food and counterfeit drugs into the country, stating that those responsible would be held accountable.
