President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Mourns the Passing of Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga

Mogadishu, Somalia – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kenya following the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, describing him as a “towering statesman whose legacy of democracy, justice, and public service will endure.”

In his message of condolence to President William Ruto, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said, “I extend my heartfelt Condolences to President Williams Ruto & the people of Kenya on the passing of former PM Raila Odinga – a towering statesman whose legacy of democracy, justice & public service will endure. Somalia stands in solidarity with Kenya in this moment of grief.”

The President noted that Raila Odinga was a transformative figure in African politics who championed democratic governance and social justice throughout his life. He emphasized that Odinga’s contributions transcended borders, inspiring generations across the region to pursue freedom, equality, and unity.

President Hassan Sheikh reaffirmed Somalia’s solidarity with Kenya during this difficult time, expressing deep sympathy to the Odinga family and the Kenyan nation as they mourn the loss of one of Africa’s most respected political figures.
