MOGADISHU ()– The State Minister of Defense for the Federal Government of Somalia, Omar Ali Abdi, held a meeting today with the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro, and a high-level delegation from the European Peace Facility (EPF).
The meeting focused on strengthening defense cooperation between Somalia and the European Union. The discussion also addressed the continued and effective support the EPF provides to the Somali National Army (SNA), a partnership that has played a visible role in the ongoing development and professionalization of the national forces.
The State Minister expressed his gratitude to the European Union for its consistent support, highlighting its importance in Somalia’s efforts to rebuild its security institutions. The meeting reaffirmed the strong relationship and shared commitment to promoting security and stability in the country.
