Awdheegle, (SONNA) — The Somali National Army (SNA), in collaboration with the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), has launched mine clearance operations in Awdheegle, Lower Shabelle region, after Al-Shabaab terrorists planted explosives along roads, near homes, and around the town.
The operation aims to eliminate all explosive devices posing a threat to civilians and security forces, allowing residents to safely return to their homes.
SNA and AUSSOM troops are also conducting additional security sweeps to ensure the complete clearance of remaining terrorist elements in and around Awdheegle. The operation forms part of broader efforts to stabilize and secure the district and its surrounding areas.
