Federal Government Condemns Attempted Assault on Warta Nabadda Police Station

MOGADISHU, SONNA – The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the violent attempt by political actors to seize the Warta Nabadda Police Station in Mogadishu, describing the actions as a direct threat to national security and public order.

In an official statement, the Government expressed deep concern over politicians who, in pursuit of power, resort to violence at the expense of Somali citizens and the Armed Forces, who remain at the forefront of defending the nation and combating terrorism.

“The Government of Somalia regrets that politicians who aspire to seize power in the country are trying to shed the blood of the people and the Armed Forces engaged in defending the country and fighting terrorism,” the statement read.

The Government held those responsible accountable for undermining the authority of the state, endangering public safety, and violating national laws.

“What happened today at the Warta Nabadda police station is the responsibility of the members who blatantly violated the existence of the state, security, order and laws of the country,” it stated.

Authorities called on all political actors and individuals to refrain from such destabilizing actions and to fully respect Somalia’s constitution and legal framework.

Reaffirming its commitment to law and order, the Federal Government emphasized that it will continue to protect the safety of citizens, secure public institutions, and hold accountable anyone who threatens national security.
