Mogadishu, Somalia – The Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Ground Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, is currently in the El-Dheer district of the Galgaduud region to boost the morale of troops. The visit comes after the soldiers successfully liberated the area from Khawaarij militants.
General Omar’s presence in El-dheer is a key part of the military’s ongoing strategy to not only defeat militants but also to support and encourage the forces on the ground. The visit aims to reinforce the government’s appreciation for the soldiers’ courage and sacrifice in securing national stability. The SNA has been conducting operations in various regions, including the Ruun-nirgood district, as part of a broader campaign to eliminate extremist threats across the country.
The government has been showcasing its comprehensive achievements at the “Dan-Qaran Government’s Performance Exhibition (2022-2025),” and the military’s progress in restoring security and liberating territories is a central component of this public display of governance. The exhibition, along with these high-level visits to front-line troops, reflects the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all sectors, including defense and security.
