Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Chief Justice of Somalia, Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, today opened the Judicial Consultation Forum on the Somali Penal Code in Mogadishu.
He underlined the importance of the Code, noting that it is a key part of modernizing Somalia’s judiciary after decades of use.
Appeal Court President, Siciid Ali Gurey, highlighted the consultation’s role in strengthening the justice system, while State Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Amb. Ilyas Sheikh Omar, stressed that the Code will not only serve the judiciary but also safeguard the fundamental rights of Somali citizens.
