BEIRUT, LEBANON – A delegation of Somali members of parliament participated in the founding of a new parliamentary council aimed at uniting legislators from the continents of Africa and Asia. The event took place in Beirut, Lebanon, and is seen as a major step toward strengthening political unity and cooperation between the two continents.
The Somali delegation was composed of Member of Parliament Ismail Iid Mohamed and Mohamed Adan Dahir from the House of the People, along with Senator Samira Mohamud Haji from the Upper House. During the meetings, the Somali representatives contributed to discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary cooperation, promoting political dialogue, and fostering developmental collaboration between Africa and Asia.
