Guba, Ethiopia, SONNA – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Tuesday evening participated in a high-level meeting in Guba, Ethiopia, focused on mobilizing sustainable financing for the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The discussions centered on the critical need for continued international and regional support to strengthen the Somali National Army (SNA) and AUSSOM, both of which play a pivotal role in consolidating hard-won gains against international terrorism and fostering long-term regional peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti, H.E. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya, H.E. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, and H.E. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
Leaders reaffirmed their collective commitment to advancing security and stability in Somalia and across the Horn of Africa through strengthened collaboration and reliable financial support for AUSSOM.
