Mogadishu, SONNA — The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Mr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), on Wednesday officially inaugurated the construction of the Darussalam Road – Phase 2, a key infrastructure project designed with modern standards.
The brief ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Banadir Regional Administration, the Darussalam District Administration, and members of the local community, underscoring the importance of the new four-kilometer road in enhancing connectivity and easing transportation.
Welcoming the regional governor, the Governor of Darussalam District, Mr. Mire Salad Dhuxuloow, expressed gratitude to the administration for prioritizing development in the area. He highlighted the significance of the project, stating that the road will connect newly developed neighborhoods and improve public transportation.
Governor Muungaab emphasized that the initiative forms part of the administration’s broader plan to expand economic infrastructure, modernize urban centers, and enhance social services.
“The construction of roads such as Darussalam Road is a symbol of our commitment to building a stronger, more connected Mogadishu,” he said.
The groundbreaking event marks another step in the Banadir Regional Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen development and improve the quality of life for residents across the capital.
