Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali government recently held a five-day meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, to re-evaluate the progress of national development projects. The meeting, which was led by Dr. Imi Mohamud Nuur, the Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction, and Housing, brought together representatives from federal ministries, regional governments, the World Bank, and various project implementers.
The primary focus of the discussions was a comprehensive review of the ongoing projects, with a particular emphasis on the development of economic infrastructure, especially roads. Participants discussed the achievements to date and collectively agreed on a new plan to expedite the completion of road studies. This is a critical step, as the project has a remaining one-year timeline.
