Baidoa, (SONNA) — The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has presented four young men in Baydhaba who voluntarily surrendered after being part of Al-Shabaab terrorist groups.
The individuals stated that they were specifically involved with the factions the militants refer to as “Jabhads” and cited the harsh living conditions in the field and constant confrontations with Somali National Forces as key reasons for laying down arms.
Their surrender highlights ongoing efforts by NISA to encourage defections and weaken insurgent networks in Southwest Somalia.
