Cape Town (SONNA) – A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia, led by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Jibril Abdirashid Hagi Abdi, is in Cape Town, South Africa, attending the African Continent Water Investment Summit.
The summit brings together African leaders, policymakers, and development partners to mobilize investments aimed at strengthening water security across the continent.
For Somalia, water investment is a strategic priority, forming a cornerstone in the country’s efforts to build resilience against climate shocks, enhance climate change adaptation and mitigation, promote sustainable economic growth, and ensure long-term stability.
The delegation is engaging with regional and global partners to explore financing opportunities, share national experiences, and align Somalia’s water sector priorities with continental initiatives to address water scarcity and improve access for communities.
