Algiers, (SONNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia together with the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, Salma Bakhita Mansouri, today presided over the inauguration of the new premises of Somalia’s Embassy in Algeria. The ceremony was attended by senior official members of the diplomatic corps.
In her remarks, Mansouri highlighted the historical depth of relations between the two nations and the mutual solidarity and support they have demonstrated over the years. She reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to continue working with Somalia to strengthen cooperation in all fields, particularly in light of both countries’ membership in the United Nations Security Council, which offers greater opportunities for consultation and coordination in defending African issues and advancing the continent’s interests.
The event took place on the sidelines of the Somali Foreign Minister’s working visit to Algeria from 9 to 11 August 2025.
