Mogadishu, Somalia – The Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development has held a crucial meeting with the United Nations office in Somalia to align the country’s development strategies with international cooperation frameworks. The discussion, which took place in Mogadishu, aims to foster greater collaboration and ensure that foreign aid is effectively channeled to meet the real needs of the Somali people.
Leading the meeting was Mr. Abdi Fatah Osman Hassan, the Director of the Office of Donor Coordination for the Ministry, alongside key leaders from the UN office. The central point of the discussion was the alignment of Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025–2029) with the new UN Cooperation Plan, which is scheduled to commence after the current plan concludes in 2025. This strategic harmonization is designed to streamline development efforts and prevent any overlap in projects.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this collaboration for accelerating tangible progress on ongoing projects. By synchronizing their plans, the government and UN agencies are working towards a common goal of maximizing the impact of aid and investment.
