Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Minister of Finance, H.E. Bihi Iman Egeh, held an introductory meeting today with Mr. Hideki Matsunaga, the newly appointed World Bank Country Manager for Somalia.
The meeting served as a platform for mutual introductions and strategic dialogue on strengthening the ongoing partnership between the Government of Somalia and the World Bank. Discussions focused on reviewing the progress of key development projects currently being implemented across the country, as well as the incoming Country Manager’s priorities and vision for collaboration.
Minister Bihi expressed his appreciation for the World Bank’s continued support to Somalia, noting the importance of aligning joint efforts to accelerate the design, approval, and implementation of new development projects.
“Strong coordination and shared planning are critical to delivering lasting results for the Somali people,” the Minister said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to effective and sustainable cooperation.
The meeting marks an important step in renewing momentum behind Somalia’s economic recovery and development agenda under the leadership of the newly appointed World Bank representative.
