Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali National Army’s Danab Commandos last night conducted a meticulous operation in the village of Yuumbis, located approximately 7 kilometers northwest of Barire in the Lower Shabelle region.
The operation resulted in the killing of eight members of the Al-Shabaab militant group, who were found in compounds where they were reportedly preparing security threats.
Among those neutralized was a senior Al-Shabaab commander identified as Abdi Jabbar, also known by the alias “Jaabir,” who was the group’s lead bomb expert in the Lower Shabelle region.
He was considered a key figure within the Al-Shabaab network, and his death is regarded as a significant blow to the group’s operational capabilities in the area.
