Doha, SONNA – The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Moallin Fiqi, continued his official visit to the State of Qatar with a tour of the prestigious Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College. Accompanied by a high-level delegation, the Minister was received with a warm welcome by Brigadier General Ali Mohamed Al-Fadaala, Commandant of the College.

During the visit, Minister Fiqi was taken on a guided tour of the institution’s key facilities, including advanced military training areas, academic classrooms, and administrative departments. The visit highlighted the strong defense cooperation between Somalia and Qatar, particularly in the area of military education and capacity building.

The Minister of Defense also met with Somali National Army officer cadets currently undergoing military training at the college. In an encouraging address, he urged the cadets to fully embrace the opportunity presented to them, emphasizing the vital role they will play in rebuilding a professional, capable, and disciplined Somali National Army upon their return.

The visit to Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College reflects Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of its defense institutions through international cooperation and professional military education. The Defense Ministry remains committed to equipping the next generation of military leaders with the tools and experience needed to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and advance the country’s path to peace and stability.
