Geneva, — The Federal Republic of Somalia is participating in the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 2 to 14, 2025. The conference, convened by the International Labour Organization (ILO), brings together representatives of workers, employers, and governments from the organization’s 187 member states.

The Somali delegation is led by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Hon. MP Yusuf Mohamed Aden, who is attending alongside representatives from both workers’ unions and employers’ associations, in accordance with the ILO’s tripartite framework.

The conference will address a wide range of pressing global labour issues, including fundamental principles and rights at work, occupational safety and health, decent employment, and social protection.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Yusuf Mohamed is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other member states to discuss labour policy cooperation and shared priorities.

In his official address to the plenary, Minister Yusuf Mohamed will reaffirm Somalia’s commitment to upholding international labour standards, improving working conditions across the country, and enhancing the welfare of Somali workers in line with national development goals.
