Beijing, (SONNA) — The First Counsellor and Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to China, Mr. Abdisalam Suleiman Kodar, participated in the international “BRI Green Brand Global Overseas Promotion Conference – China-Arab Green Industrial Cooperation Forum” held in Beijing.
Organized by the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF), the forum focused on enhancing environmental cooperation and sustainable development between China and Arab countries under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
In his address, Mr. Kodar reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to playing an active role in global environmental efforts, especially in addressing climate change challenges that heavily affect the country. He highlighted Somalia’s vulnerability to recurring droughts and land degradation, while also pointing out the nation’s natural potential, including abundant solar energy and rich marine resources along its vast coastline.
