Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, today briefed the national media, announcing that all national forces, including the crucial local forces known as Ma’awisleey, are poised for a decisive offensive aimed at completely eradicating Khawarij militant groups who pose a significant threat to peace in Somalia.

In a strong message, Minister Fiqi declared, “It is impossible for people from distant and foreign places to enslave you in your area.” He emphasized the imperative to confront and defeat these groups, which he described as opposing the development and well-being of the Somali people and their environment.

The Minister noted that the anti-peace group is currently in its final stages of decline, making a concerted, joint confrontation essential. He specifically appealed to the youth, urging them to channel their strength and determination towards defeating Al-Shabaab, highlighting that the militants stand against the youth’s aspirations for peace, employment, and security.

Minister Fiqi’s statement signals an intensified push to secure the Middle Shabelle region, reflecting the government’s resolve to bring lasting peace and stability to the area.
