Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi Aden, today held a meeting with the Deputy Governor for Security and Politics of Banadir Region, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yabooh), and the Deputy Governor for Public Works, to address the impact of last night’s heavy rains in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on assessing the damage caused by the floods and coordinating urgent relief efforts for affected communities. The officials also conducted an inspection of SoDMA’s meteorological department to review forecasting systems and response readiness.
SoDMA pledged to deliver immediate assistance to those impacted by the flooding and announced that a comprehensive damage assessment report will be released soon.
