Mogadishu, (SONNA) – A well-organized public forum was held in Mogadishu last night, where the Chairperson of the National Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission, Mr. Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, engaged with citizens in a Q&A session focused on elections and voter registration.
Responding to questions from attendees, Mr. Abdikarim provided an update on the ongoing voter registration process in the Banadir region, stating, “Voter registration for the Banadir regional council elections is progressing well. We will soon begin similar activities in other regions of the country.”
The Chairperson also announced plans to begin demarcating district boundaries following the conclusion of the electoral process. “Once we complete the elections, our next step will be to define the boundaries of districts and other administrative areas,” he said.
The voter registration process in Banadir is currently underway, with broad public support as citizens welcome the opportunity to directly elect their representatives in local governance.
