MOGADISHU, (SONNA) – The National Bureau of Statistics of Somalia (NBS) has launched a product modernization initiative in Mogadishu. The event was attended by the Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Maxamuud Cabdiraxmaan Beene Beene, the President’s Economic Advisor, Dr. Xasan Aadan Hoosow, and other officials.
The initiative includes the release of a report on modernizing the dissemination and indexing of Somali products. The report will address various aspects of commodity pricing, including food, energy, and transportation. The launch event is being attended by ministers, members of parliament, business leaders, and representatives from civil society.
The Director General of the National Bureau of Statistics, Cabdisalaan C/raxmaan Maxamed, stated that the studies being presented will analyze the factors contributing to inflation in the country. The report will specifically focus on the causes of rising commodity prices and how to prevent fluctuations. Discussions and debates related to these issues will also be held at the event.
