Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Chief of the Somali National Army (SNA), Major General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, has extended congratulations and appreciation to all ranks of the Somali National Army and their families on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Army’s establishment, commemorated on April 12.
General Odowaa emphasized that the Somali National Army has been the backbone of the country’s sovereignty and national identity since its founding on April 12, 1960, and continues to serve the Somali people with courage and dedication.
The Army Chief also extended special gratitude to the local defense forces and units involved in the ongoing territorial liberation campaign, acknowledging their sacrifices in the fight against Al-Shabaab militants.
“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the local defense forces for their heroic sacrifices in defending our country and our honor,” said General Odowaa.
He further called on all Somalis to actively support the national forces and contribute to the fight against terrorism.
“I urge every Somali citizen to stand with our forces. We are waging a war against an international terrorist network, and this fight requires unity and national responsibility,” he stated.
