Antalya, Turkey (SONNA) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived in Antalya to participate in the 4th Antalya Diplomatic Forum (ADF) 2025. The Somali leader’s attendance at this high-profile international gathering shows Somalia’s commitment to active engagement in global diplomatic affairs and regional cooperation initiatives.

During his stay in Antalya, President Mohamud is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with fellow world leaders attending the forum. These discussions will focus on strengthening Somalia’s diplomatic and economic relations with partner nations, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as trade, security cooperation, and development assistance. The President’s agenda reflects Somalia’s strategic priorities as the nation continues its path toward stability and economic recovery.

The Antalya Diplomatic Forum, hosted by the Turkish government, serves as an important platform for addressing contemporary global challenges through multilateral dialogue. President Mohamud’s participation provides Somalia with a valuable opportunity to showcase its recent progress in governance reforms and counterterrorism efforts while seeking enhanced international support for its development agenda. The visit also reinforces the strong bilateral ties between Somalia and Turkey, which have deepened significantly in recent years across various sectors including infrastructure, defense, and humanitarian cooperation.

President Mohamud is accompanied by a high-level delegation including senior government officials who will engage in sideline meetings throughout the three-day forum. The Somali leader’s presence at this international gathering marks another step in Somalia’s reintegration into the global diplomatic community as the country continues to emerge from decades of conflict. The outcomes of these discussions are expected to contribute to Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and attract foreign investment for national development projects.
