Kuwait, SONNA – The Federal Government of Somalia has signed a landmark debt relief agreement with the Arab Monetary Fund worth approximately $306.5 million. The signing took place in Kuwait on Wednesday and marks a critical milestone in Somalia’s ongoing debt relief and economic reform program.
Minister of Finance, H.E. Bihi Iman Egeh, who led the Somali delegation, stated that the agreement was essential to advancing Somalia’s economic stabilization and re-engagement with key regional financial institutions. He emphasized that the agreement supports the country’s goals for sustainable development and long-term economic growth.
The deal reflects growing international confidence in Somalia’s economic trajectory and reform efforts.
