Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The members of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia approved two key bills: the Youth Justice Bill and the Income Tax Bill. The Youth Justice Bill passed with 139 MPs voting in favor, two opposing, and none abstaining.
Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, H.E. Hassan Moallim Mohamud, thanked the Parliament for approving the Youth Justice Bill, emphasizing its importance in strengthening the country’s judicial system. “This law is crucial for the justice sector and will play a key role in ensuring fairness for Somali youth,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance, H.E. Bihi Iman Igeh, commended lawmakers for passing the Income Tax Bill, which is expected to enhance Somalia’s revenue collection and economic governance.
Additionally, the Parliament’s Sergeant-at-Arms, MP Mohamed Abdullahi Hassan Nuux, administered the oath to newly elected MP Mohamed Abdi Ali, who won his seat in Dhusamareb two days ago and has now officially joined the House of the People.
