Amman, (SONNA) – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Adan Moallim participated in the Digital Cooperation and Development Summit 2025, which commenced today in Amman, Jordan. The summit is jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arab League, in collaboration with Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
This summit, attended by communication ministers from Arab countries, focuses on reviewing the Arab digital agenda for 2023-2033. Discussions aim to enhance cooperation in technology, knowledge exchange, and efforts to advance digitalization across the region.
During the summit, Minister Mohamed emphasized Somalia’s role in digital advancement, highlighting the importance of building modern communication infrastructure, fostering technological innovation, and creating regulations that facilitate the growth of the digital economy.
The Minister also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries to strengthen strategic cooperation in improving communication and technology services in Somalia.
This summit presents a vital opportunity for Arab countries to bolster digital collaboration and address existing challenges while developing long-term plans for enhancing the digital economy.
