Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended units from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), who have undergone specialised training to combat terrorism.
These forces, trained by experts from the Turkish government in advanced tactics for planned attacks, will officially join ongoing operations in the country aimed at degrading the capabilities of terrorist groups and ensuring security, stability, and peace in Somalia.
The President highlighted that these forces would significantly contribute to dismantling the hideouts used by terrorist leaders and militias, given their rigorous training. He urged the Somali people to stand with the National Army in their fight against these extremist groups.
President Mohamud expressed gratitude to the Turkish government for their consistent support to Somalia, particularly in building and enhancing security forces. He encouraged the trained troops to remain committed to their oath and their decision to defend their homeland.
This development comes as part of a broader effort to strengthen Somalia’s security apparatus with international support, focusing on eliminating terrorist threats and promoting national stability.
